Standard Microstructure

Standard Microstructure

Metals exhibit a wide range of excellent properties not only due to their inherent characteristics, but also as a result of heat treatment and processing. The origin, heat treatment history, and processing history of a metal can be understood through microstructural analysis.
Standard Microstructures is a unique and unparalleled collection consisting of 170 types of metal materials and heat-treated specimens, organized into seven groups.
Each set includes a reference guide booklet supervised by the Materials Science Study Group (MS Study Group). The guide offers in-depth explanations of material types, heat treatment conditions, and microstructures, making the set ideal for education, training, and practical use in academic institutions, companies, and research laboratories.
These specimens are widely used for studying metal microstructures, mastering specimen preparation techniques (such as polishing and etching), operating microscopes, and photomicrography.
